According to reports, Oppo will soon introduce a brand-new smartphone from its mid-range A series. The device in question is the Oppo A79 5G version, which was just approved by a number of certification bodies.
The NBTC, TUV IMDA, FCC, and TUV Rheinland are just a few of the online databases where the Oppo A79 5G model has been discovered. In addition, the upcoming A79 5G has also been spotted on the Camera FV5 website. The Oppo A78 5G was released by the Chinese tech giant earlier this year. Therefore, this device will probably be replaced by the A79 5G. The Oppo A79 5G moniker, which has the CPH2557 model number, is visible in the NBTC listing.
The certifications from IMDA and TUV Rheinland further support this. The latter also affirmed that a battery pack with a capacity of 4,880mAh (likely rated at 5,000mAh) and support for 33W fast charging will power the device. The certifications also make the upcoming smartphone’s dimensions known. The Oppo A79 5G has dimensions of 165.61×76.02×7.99mm and weighs 193 grams. The FCC listing confirms that it will operate out of the box on ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13 OS.

The listing also confirms that 5G, FM Radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, SBAS, and NFC support will be included. The device with a 50-megapixel primary camera that takes pictures with a 12.5-megapixel resolution is the last one listed in the Camera FV5 database.
Additionally, this sensor has an f/1.8 aperture. A selfie camera with an 8-megapixel resolution is located on the front. Unfortunately, there are still many unknowns regarding the processor and storage. So keep checking for new information.
